Importance of Topic

The 21st century poses enormous ecological challenges for humanity. A rapidly growing world population, the rapid increase in levels of material wealth in emerging economies and our economic and lifestyle practices are permanently increasing the pressure exerted on our planet. The “planetary limits” defined by science have already been exceeded many times and thus severely threaten our ecological livelihood.

The sharp rise in the use and consumption of resources is creating considerable environmental burdens. Around 50% of greenhouse gas emissions and more than 90% of biodiversity loss and water stress are attributable to resource extraction and processing. The production of steel, cement, plastics, paper and aluminium alone causes 36% of all global greenhouse emissions. The reduction of resource consumption, waste and emissions therefore has a special importance within the context of sustainable development and climate protection. The realisation requires a fundamental transformation from the linear “take-make-use-waste” economy to a circular economy.

Waste recycling and recovery in Italy has been growing steadily over the years as the country has made significant efforts to promote waste management and environmental sustainability. With the highest recycling rate amongst European Union member states, Italy recycled more than 80 percent of its waste in 2020. Italy plastic recycling market stood at 2.05 Million Tonnes in 2020 and is forecast to reach 3.51 Million Tonnes by 2030, growing at a healthy CAGR of 5.76% until 2030. Whereas, the Europe recycled paper market is expected to reach US$ 9,356.8 million by 2028 from US$ 7,400.5 million in 2021.

The Recycling Week 2024 is the most important annual event concerning the promising topic of recycling challenges and solutions, and this year’s programme is once again to set new standards in the fields of recycling, waste management, sustainable development and economy. There will be a variety of interesting presentations, exhibitions and post event tours, as well as fruitful conversations and discussions.

Why You Should Attend Recycling Week

The World Recycling Convention is more than just a gathering of experts; it’s a hub of innovative ideas. It challenges people to think differently and envision a future where recycling is a norm, not an exception. The convention empowers attendees to voice their ideas and make a difference. When one person takes action, it inspires others to do the same. This collective effort amplifies the impact, bringing us closer to a better world.

Here are some reasons why you need to attend a recycling industry event this year:

  • Engage with high-level keynotes focusing on the latest policies, including national waste reduction strategies and efforts to improve recycling rates.
  • Learn from best practice case studies covering various topics, such as managing contaminated waste, handling commercial waste, and collaborative efforts to enhance recycling efficiency.
  • Network with speakers and senior colleagues from diverse sectors within the public domain.
  • Conferences serve as a vital platform to stay updated on the latest advancements, enabling you to integrate cutting-edge technologies into your work.
    .

Ever heard the phrase, “Your network is your net worth”? You can grow your network exponentially by going to conferences. Making friends and business contacts, getting to know others in the field, understanding different industry sectors’ needs, or helping someone find a job can also benefit your career.

No matter how experienced you are, there is always something new to learn. At industry events, you are exposed to a world of new ideas, programs, and techniques that can improve your business. Spending time with the industry’s top innovators will help get your creative juices flowing and will allow you to select new concepts to implement in your Work.

In our fast-paced, constantly busy world, we often forget about the immeasurable value of face-to-face interaction with industry peers and leaders. Do not miss the opportunity to make this your best year yet by empowering yourself with the tools and relationships needed for independent recycling success. The Recycling Week 2024 Together Toward Tomorrow Conference is now open for registration!
If you are going to attend just one conference each year, make it this one. Environment & Engineering professionals just like you have already signed up, expecting to be empowered, educated, and encouraged. Together, we can make 2024 the best year of recycling industry and pave the way for a better future for the entire industry.

Recycling Week 2024 initiated a great programme for students who have good research, they could choose ‘poster presentation’ or ‘young researchers forum’ options. that are available to World Recycling Convention presenters. Through this means, students can gain experience explaining their research to the panel of experts during the session.

We believe that today’s students are tomorrow’s great researchers. For this reason we have two special recognition grants for young researchers in our Recycling Week 2024; the ‘Best Poster Presentation’ award with a value of $300 and the ‘Young Researcher’ award with a value of $550. We hope this will encourage young researchers to do further quality research in the future.

In many cases, conference attendees shy away from the tradeshow floor, because they want to avoid aggressive salespeople. At a reputable conference, the vendors are selected for their high-quality products, integrity and commitment to the client’s success. In that case, recycling industry events are the best way to discover innovative products and services that will make your life easier and help you stay ahead of the competition.

The human brain cannot function at it’s highest level in times of stress and disorganization. A conference is a great opportunity to travel away from daily distractions, clear your mind and get refreshed. You will have the ability to refocus, develop new plans and implement new ideas like never before.

Conferences are the perfect time to reconnect with old classmates, colleagues, and mentors. You will undoubtedly have new ideas, experiences and stories to share with each other as you catch up. You will certainly make new friends, but some of your most meaningful business ideas could come from a conversation with someone you have known for years.

Interactive workshops are another benefit of conference attendance. This Recycling Week 2024 offers free workshops that are essentially mini-classes where delegates learn new skills and how to use new technologies. Any interested attendee can organize a separate workshop with their colleagues/co-authors/friends/students to demonstrate their individual work/product/services.
